Newest reports claim the David Clarke, the Milwaukee County Sherrif has publicly stated that he has accepted a top position at the Department of Homeland Security, during a radio interview this Wednesday.
During the interview with WISN radio host Vicki McKenna, Clarke said, “I will be leaving the position of sheriff to accept an appointment as assistant secretary in the Department of Homeland Security.”
He added, “I’m both honored and humbled to be a appointed to this position by [DHS Sec. John Kelly] working for the Trump administration.”
The conservative Democrat will be taking the position of assistant secretary at the agency’s office of partnership and programs. While he aimed to replace former FBI Director James Comey and even stated that he would be honored if given the possibility, rumors surfaced just last month that he is being considered for another position, and now we know what his future career will be.
Clarke has achieved fame for his tough talks on crime, and he has since the 2016 elections, become a huge hit with conservatives, including the base of President Trump. He has been a loud vocal critic of illegal immigrations as well as anti-police crime.
Clarke stated that he is almost overwhelmed by just the thought of his new job at the DOHS, but he added that he was never the one to shy away from a challenge.
Let’s spread the word to wish Sherrif Clarke good luck in his new position and hope that he will continue bringing success and victories just as he was until now.
