It has been revealed this Wednesday evening that Robert Mueller, the special counsel, along with his team of hand-picked lawyers, most of which are known Obama donors, are currently working with New York Attorney General, Eric Schneiderman, on Paul Manafort’s investigation.
Details have shown that both Mueller and Schneiderman’s teams are working hand in hand, with the goal of picking through Manafort’s financial transactions. And taking in mind the fact that Schneiderman jumped stepped in on the matter with Mueller, it is clear to most that the Russia investigation is still up and running, despite not taking headlines.
According to the anonymous sources, the two teams have “shared evidence and talked frequently in recent weeks about a potential case” adding that the two teams have “collected evidence on financial crimes, including potential money laundering.”
Dennis Michael Lynch has revealed that he believes the special counsel is going in hard on Manafort, trying to crack down on him in order to get some information on Trump and or his sons, explaining, “They are looking for anything they can find. It doesn’t have to be connected to Russia, or Trump.” According to him, the information can be something the POTUS or his sons did wrong years ago, but can be used by leverage as Mueller.
However, many still speculate that even if Manafort is to be found guilty by Mueller in some manner, that President Trump would pardon him.
